adorable! This carrier is so cute and has only been used once but appears very sturdy anc comfortable for kitty! the size is small though, only for small dogs and catsArrived broken and used...I bought this carrier for my tiny maltese puppy. Unlike some of the lucky pet owners who reviewed this product, my puppy immediately HATED the carrier, and refused to go in on his own. I noticed several short black hairs in the carrier right out of the box, which I can only assume are dog or cat hairs from someone else who returned it. When I finally got my struggling puppy inside, I found that one of the clasps was broken. I returned the carrier the next day and will not be buying another from Bergan.Even if I hadn't received a defective product, I would have returned the carrier anyway. Because it arrived folded up very tightly, it didn't "unkink" even after I tried to puff it up and straighten out the fabric. The little "Pet Connect" feature they make such a big deal about is really just a tiny slit that you can push your hand through, and it reminded me of just sticking my fingers through the bars of a cage. I give the product two stars instead of one because it really is cute, and the price is affordable (if the dog will actually go in and stay in), but overall I was very disappointed. I guess I will shop around some more before buying a soft carrier. Overall good, but a few quirks.I got the small size for my Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) puppy to bring her home in. She was very comfortable riding in it, & it's great for the money. We even did a 7 hr (each way) road trip when she was about 6 lbs & she slept comfortably in it. She was supposed to only be about 6-7 lbs & she's now 10 lbs at 9 months & doesn't fit into it anymore. I'm shopping for a new carrier, but my hesitation about buying the large size is because there isn't a tether leash on the inside. If I open the "head" hole or the "hand" hole, my 10 lb puppy will climb right out (she's tall, long, & skinny). Then I'm trying to drive with my kids trying to shove her back in. I have also noticed that I can't have the "head" hole open & carry it with the shoulder strap or the strap blocks her from sticking her head out. This is minor, but I wish the waterbottle pocket was on the side with the the "head" hole, because you it falls out if you open the "door" to get the dog out. Quality & comfort wise I have no complaints. I like the locking zippers, the fact that the mesh is so finely woven she can't get her claws or teeth into it. Mine still looks brand new. A tip - if you puppy isn't fully trained or you have a long flight, fold up a puppy pad or several paper towels & put them between the fleece & the support board. For small dog travel dishes get silicone pinch bowls (kitchen section) for 1-2 bucks, turn them inside out & you can give your pet a small drink or snack. They stack up & fit into the carrier pockets.A VERY small carrierI have an average-sized cat--about 13 pounds--and this carrier was too small. I had to return it and get a different one. It seems like a good carrier for a smaller cat or dog, though. Not DurableAs mentioned on another review, the mesh is torn quickly. Our Min. Pin. was able to get himself out by chewing the mesh and once it gets ripped all the mesh in that area falls apart. But it fits great under the seats of the airplane. It was the perfect size. If your dog is a chewer, you should try something else. |
